To preserve ALOTOF pieces for the long term, we have prepared a concise guide to our materials and their proper care. Adhering to these notes helps maintain surface character and structural integrity through repeated use and cleaning. For optimal results, dust and clean at regular intervals using the methods specified for each material. Unless expressly stated, items are intended for interior environments.

Aluminium Hook & Door Handle

Aluminum

Aluminum is a lightweight material characterized by its malleability, durability, and high strength to weight ratio. In our ALOTOF collections, we use untreated aluminum to showcase the material’s natural qualities. This can often result in natural imperfections on its surface, making each piece unique. Moreover it is sustainable as it can be recycled indefinitely. 

MAINTENANCE & CLEANING: Please use plain water or a mild soap/detergent. After cleaning the aluminum should be washed thoroughly and dried with a soft cloth to prevent streaking. Special care should be taken to remove any traces of cleaner from edges and rivets. Mind the fact that leaving any kind of liquid on the aluminums surface could lead to stains.


PLEASE NOTE: Natural materials will come with peculiarities and develop a characteristic patina over time.

Brass

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc with warm tone, workable malleability, and lasting strength. In ALOTOF collections it is offered in two finishes: oil-sealed and unsealed, each designed to age differently. Subtle striations, tonal shifts, and minute tool marks are inherent and make every piece singular.


MAINTENANCE & CLEANING:For all ALOTOF brass products, please wipe with a soft, slightly damp lint-free cloth. Avoid standing moisture, abrasive pads or powders, metal polishes that cut the surface, and corrosive chemicals such as bleach, ammonia, strong acids/alkalis, or thinners.

PLEASE NOTE: The surface of unsealed brass is intended to evolve. To preserve patina, clean as above and periodically apply a thin coat of neutral microcrystalline or beeswax.

Glass

Glass is an inorganic solid material. Glasses optical properties are not affected by aging.

MAINTENANCE & CLEANING: Dust with a dry, lint-free microfiber cloth. For fingerprints or film, wipe with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a small amount of pH-neutral detergent, then dry immediately to prevent spotting.Please do not use abrasives, scouring powders, rough sponges, solvents, or high-pressure sprays.

PLEASE NOTE: Please turn off power and let the shade cool before cleaning. Support the shade with both hands, avoid pressure on rims or seams, and keep moisture away from sockets and metal hardware.
